THE INSIDE SCOOP:
The F2, is basically my go to daily driver style shortboard. It features more of a stubby shortboard esq outline, this keeps things flowing and fast, the extra width up front is popular with the air guys and providing some stability for landing, then there a little bit of ‘chunk in the trunk’ this is popular with the power guys that really wanna push hard through turns, this combination provides the best of both worlds to allow radical position changes, making it super smooth and clean for full rail turns, yet still a good performer above the lip/in the air.
The entry rocker is the business end of The F2, its not too extreme curve wise, just a touch straighter on entry giving some straight lift which lets it handle slightly more powerful surf with ease and good acceleration and down the line speed whilst still allowing for full high speed rail turns/gouges. to make things a little more forgiving up front i’ve run a slightly softer rail, but nice and hard in the rear half for added bite.
concave wise i have run a single concave most of the way under the board, deepening between the fins where a touch of double is also added for fast ‘n’ free surfing, this deepening concave helps add that ‘chunk in the trunk’ and gives some leverage too push against, the kick tail in the rocker running out back then helps too foil the tail out too thin it off the tip. suitable for all your high performance needs in the 2-6ft range (waist to 2X overhead), the F2 won’t disappoint.
size wise, i generally recommend riding the F2 model a similar length thank you are tall or 1″ shorter, and i suggest using a more upright fin template for dumpy surf and slightly more raked fins for anything more lined up.
