THE INSIDE SCOOP:

THE  WINKIPOPPA  is  easily  our  best  selling  model,  this  is  the  board  you  turn  to  for  maximizing  wave  count  and  having  fun,  more  for  the  alternate  board  enthusiast  and  everyday  surf  fan,  but  we’ve  still  had  a  few  hardcore  shortboard  diehards  convert  over  to  the  WINKIPOPPA  life.

Born  from  a  twin  fish  template  in  the  front  half  with  a  step  up  feel  in  the  back  half,  its  all  fun  and  front  and  all  business  in  the  back  end,  this  makes  it  suitable  for  everything  from  soggy  2ft  fistral  to  pumping  6ft  Porthleven,  to help  build  in  the  versatility  aspect  of  the  WINKIPOPPA  the  foil  is  pushed  slightly  forward  with  the  wide  point,  this  makes  for  a  paddling  monster   beast,  but  still  has  thinned  out  rails  (more so in the rear half)  for  added   sensitivity  and  responsiveness.  the  wider  outline  focuses  on  the  maneuverability  side  of  things,  while  the  flatter  rocker  is  for  speed.

The WINKIPOPPA comes standard as a thruster set up, for the most part i recommend using a slightly more upright fin template for general poor-fair surf conditions and then using a slightly longer more drawn out or raked fin for longer more lined up surf.

As far as versatility goes, this one scores high. try one, it wont disappoint.

Sizing: for most poeple i recommend riding the winkipoppa 3-5″ shorter than you are tall, which usually comes out a touch wider than your regular high performance shortboard and around a similar thickness, for intemediate level surfers i reccomend going around 3-5″ longer than you are tall.
